Rules, Regulations & FAQ's of the Ranch

 What age can ride?
Children must be at least 5 years of age to do a trail ride. Pony rides are for all ages.
Are there any weight restrictions?
Yes. The maximum weight allowed on our horses is 250 lbs. we do have a lovely Draft Mule that can accommodate a rider up to 300 lbs. We have a limited number of horses that can accommodate larger riders. Please let us know if you weigh under/over 250 lbs so that we may know in advance which horses to use.
Do you have helmets we can use?
Yes. We provide helmets for anyone who may wish to wear one. Minors are required to wear a helmet.
How do I make a reservation?
Please Call (813)264-1919 - This is the ONLY way to make a reservation.
What if it rains?
We will ride in a light rain: however, if it is raining too hard or if there is lightening within range, we will either (a) wait until conditions improve or (b)offer you a rain check. Please call us at (813) 264-1919 on the day of your ride if you are concerned about the weather. Please keep in mind that Florida weather is difficult to predict, so we usually have to wait to make a determination at the trail head at the time of your ride.
What is your refund policy?
We do not issue refunds. Please make certain that everyone in your group/party wants to ride prior to booking. We do issue rain checks in certain situations. If you need to reschedule, please call us at (813) 264-1919 as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate you if you give us at least 3 days’ notice (72 Hours minimum notice accepted).
Cancellations & Deposit Policy
In this industry, refunds are not issued. Therefor, We do not offer refunds of ANY kind. We require at a minimum  NON-REFUNDABLE 100% payment to confirm a reservation. All rates are subject to change without notice.  If for some reason you can not make your reservation time, a refund will not be given. However, We will do our best to accommodate you on a case by case visit to facilitate a later visit to the ranch.
These polices are for cancellations of your entire reservation of for a reduction in the number of people riding in your reservation/group. We will issue half of your deposit back only if another reservation with the same number of people can be filled; otherwise, the entire deposit or pro-rated portion is forfeited.

What should I wear?
Long pants and boots or some type of closed-toed shoe is required. Boots/shoes with a short heel are safer than sneakers.
Do I need to bring anything?
Most people show up with nothing more than a desire to have fun & treats for the horses. Others come prepared for every contingency. You may want to bring: bottled water, treats for the horses, snacks, picnic supplies, a camera, sun glasses, extra cash for tipping, insect repellent, sunscreen, a hat/cap, and a riding helmet (although we do supply helmets)

A parent/legal guardian must sign a release form for any minor children prior to mounting any of our horses. All riders are required to sign a waiver before they may ride. If a parent/guardian will not be there, please print a riding wavier and bring it with you.
What if I don't know how to ride? What if I’m an expert rider?
Not a problem. We have horses for all experience levels.
Can my child ride on my horse with me?
Riding double is unsafe. Everyone will ride a horse matched with their experience level and age. We do not allow double riding, ever, for the safety of our horses and our guests.

How many riders can you take at one time?
We can accommodate groups as large as 20.
Are reservations required?
Absolutley.
Eligibility Criteria for ALL participants:
Horseback Riding is a very physical outdoor recreational activity. All riders must be able to mount and dismount without assistance and ride for 5 miles. For your safety, we must caution you that horseback riding is not at all similar to golfing or bicycling or any other sport activity. Advancing age, obesity, hip and knee replacements, arthritis, back and neck pain, decreased motor skills and other physical issues can certainly interfere with the rider's ability to balance, stay seated or even hold the reins. Participants must be able to understand the language of the attending personnel and follow visual or verbal aid. Participants must have the ability to independently remain seated and balanced on a horse in motion while simultaneously directing a horse's travel and speed for approximately an hour. A participant must also be able to withstand exposure to the outdoors for a period of 90 minutes. All participants must be sober and of sound mind to understand the inherent risks of horseback riding and complete and execute a liability release contract. Please estimate your abilities wisely and/or consult your doctor. You are welcome to contact Management at (813) 264-1919 with any questions or concerns with regard to the scope, territory and definition of this activity, inclusion and participant responsibilities.
